His extensive experience in the residential finance industry has included operating independent mortgage companies and their branches, representing mortgage lenders with community banks, and originating mortgages for community banks and independent mortgage companies.
He represents over 8,000 non-depository mortgage lenders on the Oklahoma Department of Consumer Credit Commission. This offers him the opportunity to work with his industry to ensure consumers are treated fairly and with transparency. Kent writes and is a professional speaker for the industry, as well as trade groups and associations. His area of emphasis is “Organizational Culture to Enhance Leadership Decisions”. Kent teaches continuing education classes for Realtors and home builders on real estate finance. He continues to be involved with mortgage policymakers on the state and federal level. Kent is past president of the Oklahoma Mortgage Bankers Association and enjoys offering his expertise as an active member in the association.
Kent is involved in chambers of commerce, builder associations, and Realtor groups. He is on the board of directors of Leadership Oklahoma working with leaders throughout Oklahoma to provide insight for the positive progress of Oklahoma. Kent volunteers with the leadership team at his church.
Kent and his wife, Kelcie, have been married for forty years. They enjoy spending time with their three adult children and two grandchildren who also live in Norman. Kent’s hobbies include reading, writing, gardening, cooking, watching college sports, and hiking.
